Tom: You should be able to turn it off from your user settings, once you login. (Depending on whether or not you can see the “Users” bit of the admin menu; but I think you should always be able to see your own.)
Or let me know if you just want me to turn one or both of them off. (Although I can’t understand why you would want to?! Don’t you want to know straight away? Otherwise you have to keep checking, and being disappointed when there’s nothing new! That would suck!)
