Both excellent (although if we all start posting our favourite xkcds, we could be here all day).
Also: opening links in new tabs is *your* responsibility and your browser’s. There is nothing worse than sites that *presume* to know whether links should open in a new tab. Argh. Nasty.
Pro-tip: Ctrl-click in Firefox.
mike spewed:
Pro-tip: Middle mouse button click to open in new tap (firefox)…my left hand is busy ;)
drew spewed:
Well, not all of us are cool enough to have 3-button mice. But fair point.
tom spewed:
Incorrect! This is inefficient! Does not compute! Terminate! Terminate!
tom spewed:
Also, I hate it how when you hit ‘back’ to get back to the main page, it doesn’t remember where you were scrolled down to. I don’t know much about PHP but I’m sure this is pretty basic stuff. Come on guys, time to step up your game.
tom spewed:
Additional addendum! My firefox settings specify that new pages should be opened in a new tab, Drew. So AS may be hijoxxoring my settings to open links in the same tab. Should a site presume to open links in the same tab, hmm? Should it, Drew?
mike spewed:
Oh Tom.
drew spewed:
Remembering where you were in the page when you press “Back” is browser functionality, not site functionality. And I know Firefox does it for me for AS, so if it doesn’t for you, I don’t know why.

FALSE! Because they’re *not* opening in a new window; that’s what I’m saying. You’ve just got settings to say if it *wants* to open in a new window, use a new tab instead. But AS links (like ALL GOOD LINKS) open (by default) in the same tab. If you *want* to do something else, *tell your browser*. You’re a hip, creative, IT-loving person, so I assume you have a 3-button mouse. Problem solved, as per Mike’s instructions!
God dammit I hate it how AmatoSauce doesn’t open links in a new tab. I also like this one.
