Just becuase AmatoSauce is usually full of stupidity, doesn’t mean we can’t learn some important educational lessons.
And as Mike and Nick’s older brother, I think the responsibility falls to me to educate them in some important issues about sex:
Trust me, guys; you’ll thank me on your wedding nights.
Taco Bell restaurant-chain founder Glen Bell Jr. passed away Sunday at the age of 86, according to Taco Bell.
We’ll be having an AmatoSauce-supported moment of silence for this man’s tremendous achievements.
I kept seeing people linking to this, and didn’t understand why. But having tried it, I can now highly recommend it. Click on the picture (or the link) to play.
(P.S. It’s not funny. Just fun.)
(P.P.S. Before someone points out that technically it’s not “first-person”, since that would mean something like looking down, spinning, as a pile of blocks moves closer and closer to you; I’m well aware of that, it’s just what the designer called it.)
“Oh my god, I’m getting some great footage of this hunting eagle. Look it him, flying around so majestic. I mean, look at all that majesty.”
“Whoa, actually he’s getting a bit close.”
“Wait, why’s he getting larger and larger?”
“Holy shit, he disappeared. Where’d he go?!
… even Stevie Wonder.
… but this is still some interesting design, even if it takes an already-ugly bracelet watch and makes it 100% ugly.
A couple more pictures are here. It would have been nice to make a little animated GIF showing the LEDs going on and off, but I was too lazy.
That is all.
Oh wait, no, there’s a few more here.
Maybe it’s just me, but I think this is way cooler than the chain clock Mike posted a few weeks back:
(If you can’t tell, the “face” is an LCD screen, replaying a video, of the guy updating the hands.)
I can’t tell you how much I would pay for something like that; but it’d be a lot. Or, like the chain clock, maybe make your own?
The guy seems to do a lot of this sort of “analog vs. digital” stuff, and his website links to his other cool clock videos.
(I hope this is low enough on the “pretentious art” scale to not put Mike off.)
Okay, all you CG/MG nerds, tell me: is this guy’s showreel any good?
It certainly looks amazing to me, but wtf do I know?
But, seriously, 110 days render time?! Holy fuck!
(Actually, that looks pretty crappy full screen. YouTube has a higher quality version, and the description for that also links to a full HD version.)
XMAS BONUS! Alternative background image for this post. (It didn’t work well with the resizing/cropping, and I couldn’t be bothered fixing it myself.)
